Here’s the Innkeeper Passion Statement from relatively new bed and breakfast owners, Andy and Jenny Todd, of The Prairie House Bed & Breakfast, which is located in De Smet, South Dakota:
“Our adventure as B&B owners began in June of 2008 when we moved our family of 6 from New Jersey to DeSmet, South Dakota. Opening our home to guests was a new experience for us, but the past year has been filled with great memories.
We enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and having the opportunity to share life experiences. When they walk thru the door they are only guests. By the time they leave, they are friends that we keep in touch with.
Jenny’s love for cooking and the history of Laura Ingalls Wilder have been used to their full potential on a regular basis. It’s a blessing to us to be able to make people feel at home when they are away from home by providing a relaxing atmosphere and delicious meals made from fresh ingredients.
We are now living our dream of owning our own business, and using our favorite hobbies, too!”
